Report Generator Questions

+ How do I update my report generator?

  1. Click the Lab Menu button in the menu bar at the top
  2. Click Update
  3. Wait until the small yellow box at the top center of the screen says Finished Script
  4. You should then see all Samples that are In Progress stage appear at the bottom of the Samples tab
  5. If you don't see the Samples you want to report, make sure that the Samples' order is in the red "In Progress" stage in Confident Cannabis. Only Samples In Progress will appear when clicking Update
  6. If the Samples are In Progress, but you don't see them appear at the bottom of the Samples tab, they might already be somewhere else on the Samples Page. See "How do I find the Sample I want to report?"
  7. If this is the first time using the Report Generator, please see "How Do I provide authorization to use my report generator?"

+ How do I add test results to my report generator?

  1. Click on the tab with the name of the test data you want to add. For example, if you want to add cannabinoid data, click the "Cannabinoids" tab. For pesticide data, click the "Pesticides" tab, etc...
  2. Copy the data you want to add from your spreadsheet, always starting with the Sample Number. For tricks to make copying and pasting faster, see How do I quickly select a block of data I want copy and paste?
  3. Navigate to the last row with data on the tab
  4. Put your cursor in the next row down in the column called Sample Number (usually column G)
  5. Paste your data as values with the sample number in the Sample Number column
  6. Make sure the number formats and column headers correspond to the data you pasted in
  7. You can do this with many Samples at a time, and the Sample numbers can be in any order you want

+ How do I create reports with my report generator?

  1. Make sure all your data is dropped into the corresponding tabs (all cannabinoid data is in the Cannabinoids tab, all pesticide data is in the Pesticides tab, etc...)
  2. Go to the Samples tab
  3. Find the Samples you want to report and Select "Yes" from the dropdown in the white column called Ready to Report? (usually column K)
  4. Click the Lab Menu button in the menu bar at the top
  5. Click Create Reports
  6. Wait until the small yellow box at the top center of the screen says Finished Script. This may take a few minutes if you are creating several reports at once, so go get a cup of coffee or tell someone how much you love Confident Cannabis
  7. The draft reports are automatically created with the photos and data, and uploaded to the corresponding Sample in Confident Cannabis
  8. Your reports are not published to your Client until you click "Complete" in Confident Cannabis
  9. If you see "TRUE" next to the Sample you want to report, delete the TRUE in the column called Uploaded? The Report Generator will skip any Samples that have a TRUE in that column
  10. Only Samples In Progress will appear when clicking Update so make sure all the Samples you want to report are in the red In Progress stage in Confident Cannabis

+ How do I view the draft data and report for a single Sample?

  1. Once you've created your reports, find the Sample you want to view in Confident Cannabis. To learn how to find your Sample, see How do I find a Sample in Confident Cannabis?
  2. To view the Certificate of Analysis, click the Report button on the top left of the Results Page

+ How do I view the draft reports for all Samples in an Order at once?

  1. Once you've created your reports, find the Order you want to view in Confident Cannabis. To learn how to find your Order, see How do I find an Order in Confident Cannabis?
  2. Click the green Open Latest Reports button above the Samples table. This will open a new tab for every Report in the Order
  3. If there are more than one Sample in the Order, and only one tab opens, disable your browser's popup blocker for the Confident Cannabis website

+ How do I correct errors when generating reports?

  1. Make sure all the data is correct. For example, make sure there are no fields with text where there should numbers, dates are correct, etc... If this occurs, you will receive an error message in your Report Generator telling you which field has the error
  2. Make sure the Samples you are trying to report are In Progress. Only Samples In Progress can be created
  3. If the Sample image doesn't appear on the report, check your photo app to make sure there is a photo uploaded to that sample. To learn how to use your photo app, see How do I use my photo app?

+ How do I Re-Generate Results?

  1. Make sure the Order is In Progress
  2. Delete the "TRUE" in the Uploaded? column
  3. Click the Lab Menu button in the menu bar at the top
  4. Click Create Reports
  5. Wait until the small yellow box at the top center of the screen says Finished Script and the samples you are reporting are marked with a TRUE

+ How do I know which Samples have data ready to be reported?

  1. Make sure you've marked all Samples in the test tabs (Cannabinoids, Pesticides, etc...) as Done to the left of the Sample Number column
  2. Go to the Samples tab and look at the column called All Done? (usually column N)
  3. If the Sample has data for all of the tests that are required to be performed, then that column will appear as Done
  4. If you expect to see a Sample appear as Done, but do not see it marked Done, scroll to the right of the Samples tab and find the tests that are not marked as "Done" to see what's missing

+ How do I know which Samples have uploaded reports?

  1. Click Lab Menu at the top of your Report Generator
  2. Click Update
  3. Once the scrip finishes running, all samples marked TRUE in the column called "Uploaded?" have Reports uploaded to Confident Cannabis

+ How do I know which Samples are published to my Clients?

  1. Click Lab Menu at the top of your Report Generator
  2. Click Update
  3. Once the scrip finishes running, all samples marked TRUE in the column called "Reported or Canceled?" have Reports uploaded to Confident Cannabis, unless you canceled the order

+ How do I quickly select a block of data I want copy and paste?

  1. In your spreadsheet, put your cursor in the cell to the top left of the block of data you want to copy
  2. On a Windows computer, hold Ctrl + Shift, then using your arrow keys push the right key and down
  3. On an Apple computer, hold Command + Shift, then using your arrow keys push the right key and down
  4. Copy and Paste the data anywhere you want. This is much faster and less prone to errors than using the mouse to select the data

+ How do I quickly find a Sample in the Report Generator?

  1. You can search for the Sample you want by simultaneously typing Ctrl + F on a Windows computer or Command + F on an Apple computer
  2. Then in the search box that appears in the top right of the page, type the Sample number or Sample name you are looking for and hit enter
  3. This will take you to the closest appearance of your search
  4. You can hit enter again and again until you find the row you're looking for

+ How do I pick different units in my report generator?

  1. Go to the Units column and find row with the sample you want to set
  2. In the cell, click the arrow and select your desired unit

+ How Do I provide authorization to use my report generator?

  1. If it is the first time using the Report Generator, you may see a prompt that says Authorization Required
  2. Click the blue Continue button
  3. Select the email account you would like to use for the Report Generator
  4. Click the blue Allow button at the bottom
  5. You only need to do this once

Lab Portal Questions

+ How do I add a Client?

  1. Click the Clients Tab in the blue menu bar to the left
  2. Click the green Add New Client button above and to the left of the Clients Table
  3. Enter the Client's information, remembering to fill in all required fields
  4. Click Create Client
  5. This will send your Client an email with their username and temporary password to log in

+ How do I place an Order?

  1. Find the Client you'd like to place the order for. To learn how to find a Client, see How do I find a Client in Confident Cannabis?
  2. Click the green New Order button in the preview window to the right of the Clients Table
  3. Click the green Add Samples button
  4. Fill out the New Sample form for each Sample you want to add to the Order
  5. Click Continue in the bottom right
  6. Select how you want to get the Samples to the lab
  7. Review the Order and make any edits as necessary
  8. Click the big green Submit Order button on the top right
  9. This will your Client an email summarizing the Order

+ How do I Verify an Order?

  1. Find the Order you want to Verify
  2. Review the Order for accuracy, making sure that all Samples are added to the order with the correct test packages and are listed as the correct matrix type
  3. Click the big green Verify button on the top right
  4. This will send your Client an email letting them know you've received the Samples and to await their test results

+ How do I Complete an Order?

  1. Create the Reports for all Samples in the Order. To learn how to create Reports, please see the Report Generator section of the FAQs
  2. Find the Order you want to Complete
  3. Inspect the Reports in the Order for accuracy. See How do I view the draft Reports for all Samples in an Order?
  4. Click the big green Complete button on the top right
  5. This will send your Client an email summarizing the order, with links to view their Sample pages

+ How do I add or remove Samples in an existing Order?

  1. Find the Order you want to Edit
  2. Make sure the Order is in the Placed stage. If the Order is In Progress or Completed stage, you cannot add or remove Samples from an Order. If you need to make this change, you must Cancel the Order and re-create the Order
  3. Click the light gray Edit Order box
  4. Follow the steps to edit the Order

+ How do I change the test packages for Samples in an existing Order?

  1. Find the Order you want to Edit
  2. Make sure the Order is in the Placed stage. If the Order is In Progress or Completed stage, you cannot add or remove Samples from an Order. If you need to make this change, you must Cancel the Order and re-create the Order

  1. Find the Order you want to Edit

+ How do I edit a Sample's name or other information in an existing Order?

  1. Find the Order you want to Edit
  2. Make sure the Order is in the Placed or In Progress stages. If the Order is Completed, you must return the order to In Progress. To learn how to return an order to In Progress, see How do I re-upload Reports to a Completed Order?
  3. Click the light gray Edit Order box
  4. Follow the steps to edit the Order

+ How do I re-upload Reports to a Completed Order?

  1. Find the Order with the Samples you want to Report
  2. Click the red Return to In Progress button on the top right
  3. Re-create the Reports in the Generator. See the Report Generator section of the FAQs
  4. Once you Complete the order again, this will re-send your Client an email with all of their test results of that order when you Complete the Order again
  5. Remember, you can only create Reports for Samples that are In Progress

+ How do I edit Sample details in a Completed Order?

  1. Find the Order with the Samples you want to Report
  2. Click the red Return to In Progress button on the top right
  3. Click on the Sample you want to edit from the table
  4. Click the orange Edit Sample button in the preview window at the top
  5. Click the green Edit Sample again on the top right of the popup window
  6. Make any changes necessary. Remember, you cannot change the Sample's matrix Category or its test packages once the Sample has been Verified
  7. Click Save Changes

+ How do I find an Order?

  1. Click the Orders tab in the blue menu bar to the left
  2. Type the Order Number or Client Name into the search box to the top right of the Orders Table
  3. Click on the row of the Order you want to view
  4. You can also find an Order by first finding the Client, and scrolling down the preview window on the Clients page. To learn how to find a Client, see How do I find a Client in in Confident Cannabis?

+ How do I find a Sample in Confident Cannabis?

  1. Click the Samples Tab in the blue menu bar to the left
  2. Click All toggle to search all Samples or the Completed toggle to search only completed Samples
  3. Type the Sample Number, Sample Name or Client Name into the search box to the top right of the Samples Table
  4. Click on the row of the Sample you want to view
  5. You can also find a Sample by first finding the Order that Sample is in, and clicking the green Actions button then View Sample on the row of the Sample you want to view

+ How do I Adjust Weight On Hand?

  1. Choose Sample you want to adjust
  2. In Test Info, click the Sample Actions
  3. Select Adjust Weight

+ How do I find a Client in Confident Cannabis?

  1. Click the Clients Tab in the blue menu bar to the left
  2. Type the Clients Name or email into the search box to the top right of the Clients Table
  3. Click on the row of the Client you want to view

+ How do I see the orders that require pickup?

  1. Click the Orders Tab in the blue menu bar to the left

+ How do I print invoices?

  1. Find the Order
  2. Click the Invoice button above the list of Samples
  3. Print as many Invoices as you like

+ How do I print batch bag labels?

  1. Find the Order
  2. Click the Order Actions button above the list of Samples
  3. Select Batch Bag Labels and enter the number of copies
  4. Print as many Batch Bag Labels as you like

+ How do I print Vial Labels?

  1. Find the Sample
  2. Click the Labels button near the top left of the page
  3. Select the type of Vial Label

  7. Print as many Vial Labels as you like

+ How do I print chain of custody forms?

  1. Find the Order
  2. Click the Chain of Custody button above the list of Samples
  3. Print as many Chain of Custody forms as you like

+ How do I upload my transactions into Quickbooks Desktop?

  1. Click the Settings tab in the blue bar to the left
  2. Click Laboratory under Settings in the blue bar to the left
  3. Click Export in the group of tabs at the top on the right
  4. Export your Client data first and upload it to Quickbooks Desktop
  5. Export your Order information second and upload it to Quickbooks Desktop

+ How do I change organization?

  1. Click your Name at the top left of the screen under the Confident Cannabis logo
  2. Select Change Organization
  3. Choose the organization you want to switch to from the list
  4. Click the green Activate button

Photography Questions

+ How do I install the Confident Labs photo app?

  1. In Confident Cannabis, click Settings at the bottom of the blue menu bar on the left
  2. Click Laboratory
  3. Click the tab called Photos
  4. Download the Confident Labs app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your smartphone
  5. Enter your Confident Cannabis username and the four digit password that appears on the Confident Cannabis Photos page under Setting --> Laboratory --> Photos to log in. Note: The four digit password is NOT the password you use to log into Confident Cannabis

+ How do I take photos of my Samples to include on the reports?

  1. Open the Confident Labs app on your smartphone
  2. Tap the Sample you want to photograph
  3. Point the phone's camera at the sample you wish to photograph. See How do I make my photos look awesome? for easy tricks to take great pics
  4. Take the photo
  5. Tap Use Photo to upload the photo
  6. This will automatically upload the image to the Report and the Results Page when you create the Report

+ How do I make my photos look awesome?

  1. Use the mini photo booth we gave you. If you don't have one yet, just ask us for one
  2. Make sure the photography area is very well lit, with light coming from multiple directions (top, sides, front, and back)
  3. Make sure the photography surface and background are solid white and not reflective
  4. Lay the Sample on a white parchment paper sheet to avoid cross-contamination between Samples
  5. Hold your smartphone between 3 and 12 inches from the Sample in landscape mode (horizontally) from the side of the Sample. Do not take the photo from the top down
  6. Zoom in slightly (about 10-30%) to fill the frame with the Sample, minimizing empty white space around the Sample without cutting out the edges of the Sample
  7. If you are photographing a concentrate (BHO, rosin, shatter, etc.), elevate the Sample on a white cotton ball to let the light shine through the concentrate, revealing its beautiful colors
  8. Take the picture and show it off to your friends
